Dependant Pass Singapore

Foreign professionals are provided with opportunities to work in Singapore. Qualifications allow them to enjoy certain benefits stipulated in their work passes. Considering that many of these professionals and skilled workers have families in their home countries, the Ministry of Manpower allow family members to live in Singapore through the Dependant’s Pass.

What are the requirements?

If you are thinking of getting a dependant’s pass for your family member/s, you have to take note that there is a minimum monthly salary of 6000 SGD. For your family to qualify for the pass, you must be an EP or S Pass holder.

The basic requirements are marriage certificate (if you are aiming to get a pass for your spouse) and a birth certificate or adoption order of your child. If your child is 12 years old or below, you also need to secure the Verification of Vaccination Requirements.

How does the process look like?

The DP application should be processed by the EP or S Pass holder’s employer or agent. This can be done online or in person. The first step is to fill out and submit the application form and other documents required by the MOM. Application fees should be settled. Each pass costs $105. Approval means there will be an IPA letter which grants you, the candidate, the permit to enter Singapore. The EP holder’s employer has up to 6 months to ensure that the candidate enters the country and to get the pass issued. For S Pass holders, the time allowance to do these is 2 months.

Getting the pass issued is the next step. An online request should be secured together with additional documents, if needed. At the end of this step, a notification letter will be issued. The candidate may be required to register their photo and fingerprints, In this case, the employer has to make an appointment for you. You will need your passport, appointment and notification letters, and other required documents.

Once your documents and application are verified, the card pass will be delivered within four working days.
