MOM Letter of Consent
Family members of EP and S Pass holders are permitted to live in Singapore granted that they meet the Ministry of Manpower’s criteria. They can either be DP (dependant’s pass) or LTVP (long term visit pass) holders. In many cases, these pass holders start to look for job opportunities. They are allowed to do so if they have a letter of consent.
What is a MOM letter of consent?
A letter of consent makes sure that foreigners that are DP or LTVP holders will be able to take job opportunities within legal means. This will allow them to work in Singapore if ever they find a job.

Applications should be taken care of by the employer or agent.
LTVP and LTVP+ or Dependant’s pass holders may be eligible candidates.
Your letter of consent is cancelled the moment you leave your company. The cancellation must still be processed by the employer.
You will only be able to start working once your employer receives your letter of consent.
Who is eligible to secure a letter of consent?
While only the employer or employment agent are allowed to apply for a letter of consent, the pass is provided for LTVP and LTVP+ or Dependant’s pass holders who meet MOM’s requirements.
What are the requirements?
You must be an an LTVP and LTVP+ or Dependant’s pass holder and your pass must be valid for no shorter than three months. A job offer is also a must. Take note that you are not allowed to take jobs that are considered objectionable. An example is being a dance hostess. There’s nothing wrong with it but it’s better to comply with the government’s requirements and standards to avoid wasting your resources.
How does the process look like?
To apply, the employer must secure a written consent from you, the candidate. The application form should be filled out online. You will be able to check the status of your LOC application online after a week. However, there are cases where you might need to wait more than that because other documents and further verification may be required. Once your LOC is approved, you may get access to it online and print it for your use.
